Blnktag Inc

What is BlinkTag? (Why am I getting this?)

Short answer - you've either worked with us in the past, or you're a friend, colleague, school mate, drinking buddy, or some other relation of Jed Horne or Brendan Nee.  This is only the second email like this we've sent out in three years, so we're not likely to bug you more than this once.

If you haven't heard from us in awhile, it's because we've been busy getting grad degrees from UC Berkeley, starting our own company and renovating a live/work office space in the Mission.

What We Do: Our bread-and-butter is web development and IT consulting. We're also trained city planners, so if you happen to run a city (or work for one), we can crunch numbers, help collect data, or build your transit system. Basically, we're a fast-growing, full-service consulting company with a young feel and a slightly off-color name.  We've worked with everyone from radical leftists to real estate agents, and are even helping out a candidate for Mayor of New Orleans.

Need something done?  Let us know, and we bet we can do it.

Same Company, New Name

Alt

But some of you already know how awesome we are, and have worked with us in the past.  So why the email?

We've changed our name!

What's Different: well, nothing, really, except you can use our logo on your website or subway system without making old ladies blush. Also, we're concentrating on promoting our new image at Blnktag.com, so if you follow our blog or want to check in with us once in awhile, that's the best place to start.

We're proud to announce the launch of Bl(i)nktag Inc., a HorneNee company. While we'll continue to use the tried-and-true HN brand for our more <ahem> innovative projects, we felt it was time for a makeover.

Sincerely and most importantly, we'd like to thank all of our loyal customers for your ongoing support. Don't worry! If you've worked with us before, expect the same excellence, professionalism, and occasional quirkiness we've prided ourselves in to date. Thanks to you, we've built up a base of more than twenty clients under our old brand, and we're continuing to grow.  We've grown to three full time employees and a small army of consultants whose expertise ranges from artificial intelligence to teaching bike repair to underprivileged youth.

Confused about the name(s)? Our new theme comes from one of the dumbest pre-xhtml tricks in the web designer's sling: the legendary "blink" tag, which, when used to surround a block of text, makes it flash on and off (seriously). While we generally look down down our noses at such gimmickry, we thought the name was kind of catchy, and keeping with the sense of humor and freshness we brought to our old brand. If you didn't know about us before, HorneNee is a mashup of our last names, too cute to pass up, really.

What We Want You to Do

Alt

If you've worked with us in the past, please consider Blinktag Inc. for your future business needs. We offer flexible rates to preferred clients.

Spread the word! We have a staff of six and are continuing to grow, so please tell everyone (EVERYONE) you know about who we are and what we do. You might be surprised about how many people need a website, or their own bus company.

Visit Us.  If you live in San Francisco or ever travel through for a visit, stop by and check out our office and have a drink with us.

Keep tabs on us. We've got a blog, twitter accounts and we send out emails like this every 18 months or so.

It's been a good run, but it's time to grow up (just a little).

Best regards and a happy Cinco de Mayo,

Jed and Brendan
